Just doesn’t make much sense at that price point. $15k gets you a very nice classic Boston Whaler Montauk. Or for a lot less a 13 which will still be far more versatile than these.

I love all my Tatula sv's but I would hardly consider them "budget" reels, not in the states at least.

I had a Hobie Outback warp also. I store mine in a metal shipping container and internal temps can reach 150 degrees in the summer. I’d like to know if anyone has had warping issues with an Old Town when storing in a metal shipping container.

I purchased a 2000 and returned it, when I would retrieve line under pressure(retrieving my lure in water) I could hear something grinding. At first I thought it was the line roller bearing but no it was something inside. I just stuck with my stradic and vanford, they both work awesome.

been lookin into some jdm lines. the diameter is a slight turn off for me since baitcasters will typically cast better with thicker braid. conversely, i do understand the value of the thin diameter for bfs and light tackle casting applicationns.
